This is the final component of an expansion project that evolved out of community necessity and fortunate timing. Now that there is more space, cubicles donated three years ago are coming out of storage to be configured into workstations for clients attending an online Money Management course and those conducting job searches and writing resumes. Cubicle design and construction were not included in the project budget, and we need help configuring the space.
Irving Cares, in partnership with the Irving community, is dedicated to providing its residents with temporary assistance and training to promote self-sufficiency. We offer limited financial assistance for rent, utilities, or prescriptions; a food pantry; an employment program; a transportation program to medical appointments; and information and referrals. We provided basic human services to over 30,000 people last year, 15% of Irving’s population, and the need continues to increase.
