Description:

The Old Pine Community Center (OPCC) in Philadelphia PA was needed help evaluating the condition of its component building systems. The Community Design Collaborative of AIA Philadelphia , an organization which matches non-profits and civic groups with pro-bono architectural and planning services, put together a volunteer design team including Friday Architects alongside a structural engineer and an energy auditor.

The team conducted a half-day examination and submitted a report. The report included an assessment of the structure and building shell, interior, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) along with other energy related recommendations.

The final report was used as a component in the major capital improvements program that the Trustees of OPCC were mounting to enable this heavily used community facility to continue to serve its constituency effectively well into the 21st century.
